L\u2019entr\u00e9e nord du parc Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier a maintenant son \u0153uvre d\u2019art public. L\u2019\u0153uvre Fontaines <\/em>de l\u2019artiste Myriam Dion<\/a>, n\u2019a pas d\u2019eau \u00e0 proprement parler, mais par son profil de forme stylis\u00e9e, l\u2019\u0153uvre \u00e9voque le r\u00f4le fondamental de la source, son ing\u00e9niosit\u00e9 et son pouvoir rassembleur. Elle s\u2019\u00e9rige majestueusement aux intersections des voies cyclables, pi\u00e9tonnes et routi\u00e8res de la rue Saint-Gr\u00e9goire et de l\u2019avenue Christophe-Colomb marquant ainsi le paysage urbain de ce secteur de l\u2019arrondissement du Plateau-Mont-Royal.<\/p>\n

Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un ensemble de\u00a0 trois sculptures monumentales repr\u00e9sentant des fontaines. Chacune se dresse sur une des trois portions du terre-plein v\u00e9g\u00e9talis\u00e9 sur la rue Saint-Gr\u00e9goire et se compose de panneaux d\u2019aluminium soigneusement taill\u00e9s au laser \u00e0 partir de motifs irr\u00e9guliers dessin\u00e9s puis d\u00e9coup\u00e9s par l\u2019artiste Myriam Dion.<\/p>\n

La dentelle des plaques d\u2019aluminium ajour\u00e9es transpose les gestes fins et les motifs r\u00e9p\u00e9titifs des \u0153uvres sur papier de l\u2019artiste. En laissant passer la lumi\u00e8re, elle illustre les variations subtiles des gouttelettes ruisselantes, le mouvement de l\u2019eau et le rythme constant de ses jets, le tout sugg\u00e9rant\u00a0l\u2019effet relaxant de la fontaine.<\/p>\n

Premi\u00e8re \u0153uvre ext\u00e9rieure d\u2019envergure de l\u2019artiste \u00e0 int\u00e9grer la Collection municipale d\u2019art public, Fontaines<\/em>, op\u00e8re des rapprochements avec les d\u00e9placements des promeneurs et la revitalisation de ce secteur.<\/p>\n

Cette \u0153uvre d\u2019art a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e dans le cadre de la r\u00e9habilitation du r\u00e9seau routier aux abords du parc Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier et a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9e dans le cadre de l\u2019Entente sur le d\u00e9veloppement culturel de Montr\u00e9al conclue entre la Ville de Montr\u00e9al et le gouvernement du Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
